12/16 evening Snow

Judging by that picture, we can see that the GFS is taking the clipper much farther up north. Now that several model runs have taken accumulations in the center of over 6 inches, confidence is increasing.
The NAM has not updated yet.

Potential Christmas Storm Upper MW/GL

First image is 5 day image.
Below image is 6 day image.

Judging on the above images, I'm going to indicate that a storm is possible for Christmas in the Upper MW. Also below is the GEM forecast, showing the system going south.

Europe Winter Storm! 12/16

Looks like we have the jet stream against us in Europe!
Everyone in the outlined area above should prepare for big accumulations.
Not much else to say.
Bottom line: Rapid-fire storms are aiming for Europe!

Potential Nor'Easter

Below is an image from Weather.com

So! Happy Thursday! We have a potential Nor'easter on our hands!
Let's get right down to it.
Potential accumulations ATTM are probably going to be at most 12 inches up in New England.
But...there's a catch. 2, actually.
1, some spots could have snow to rain.
2, these accumulations are unsure. I don't even know if it will happen.
But for now, prepare for a big snowstorm.
Don't cancel plans yet.

Weather Explained: Alberta Clipper

What is an Alberta Clipper?
An Alberta Clipper is a moisture-starved snow system starting in the providence of Alberta, Canada. the storm typically affects the Midwest and Upper Midwest.

How much snow do they put down?
If you're in the narrow band, up to 6 inches can fall. Elsewhere, 2 inches typically falls.

Are they dangerous?
Other than slippery roads, as is with all snow, no. However, cold temperatures can follow Alberta Clippers, turning sun-melted snow to ice.

Why are they called 'Clippers'?
Alberta Clippers drop snow and move fast. They are notorious for what I call a 'snow-and-go'. Alberta Clippers may be the fastest moving storms to my knowledge.
