January Long-Range Forecast

Good evening all, and welcome to the first long-range forecast of this blog. You can find it under the label 'Long Range Forecasts'.

So, for January, since it is winter, I am predicting the arctic air that is currently over the US will recede a bit so the South will get a break. However, I do expect that arctic air to plunge south a few times this month.
The warmth will be confined mostly south, but I wouldn't be surprised if the North US saw some spells of 40's like New Years Day.
The Greenland Block may set up, that's a more tricky estimate.
